Contemplation: Wildlife Photography

Great White Egret standing completely still, gracefully balanced on a partially submerged branch at the water's edge.

Was he hunting, well practiced at keeping his body motionless as to not scare away his prey, or was he maybe taking this moment to just be? To just be still, to just be alive, to just feel the breeze through his feathers..

Let’s be honest, here: he’s a bird. He was probably hunting for fish, but photographing him gave me that moment of stillness and quiet contemplation that I often forget to take the time for.
